Italy September harmonised CPI revised down to +0.7% y/y
October 16 (Reuters) -Italian EU-harmonised consumer prices (HICP) rose 1.2% month-on-month in September and were up 0.7% from the year earlier, official statistics agency ISTAT said on Wednesday, revising down yearly preliminary data.
The preliminary estimate had pointed to +1.2% month-on-month and +0.8% year-on-year.
September’s +0.7% annual rate was down from +1.2% in August.
The main domestic price index (NIC), fell 0.2% on the month and increased 0.7% annually, declining from a 1.1% annual rise in August.
Core inflation (net of fresh food and energy) was running at +1.9% year-on-year on the HICP index in September, down from +2.2% in the month before.
