CHICAGO, Oct 17 (Reuters) -Following are U.S. expectations for the resumption of grain and soy complex trading at the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) at 8:30 a.m. CDT (1330 GMT) on Thursday:

WHEAT - Down 2 to 3 cents per bushel

* Wheat futures ticked lower, asrain relief in Russian and U.S. wheat-growing zones tempered crop worries.

* The return of rain has been a drag on prices this week, taking attention away from Russian government efforts to regulate exports and rising prices in Russia and Ukraine.

* Russia's Kursk region has introduced emergency measures due to a drought which killed winter grain crops, the local government said on Thursday.

* CBOT December soft red winter wheat WZ24 was last down 2-3/4 cents at $5.82-1/4 a bushel. K.C. December hard red winter wheat KWZ24 was last down 2-1/2 cents at $5.86-1/4 a bushel, and Minneapolis December spring wheat MWEZ24 was up 1-1/4 cents at $6.22 a bushel.

CORN - Down 1 to 2 cents per bushel

* Corn futures down as a brisk U.S. harvest and improved planting weather in South America countered support from the announcement of a large export sale of U.S. corn on Wednesday.

* Exporters sold 197,180 metric tons of corn to Mexico for 2024/2025 delivery, the U.S. Department of Agriculture reported in a daily reporting system.

* Exporters also sold 101,000 tons of corn to unknown destinations for 2024/2025 delivery, the USDA reported.

* Dry weather in the U.S. Midwest has accelerated harvesting, with 47% of the corn crop harvested as of Sunday.

* CBOT December corn CZ24 was last down 1-3/4 cents at $4.03 per bushel.

SOYBEANS - Down 7 to 8 cents per bushel

* Soybean futures down to a near seven-week low on supply pressures, a rising dollar and falling crude oil prices.

* Drought has delayed early planting of soybeans in Brazil but national crop agency Conab on Tuesday projected a 13% jump in Brazilian soybean production in 2024/25.

* CBOT November soybeans SX24 were last down 7 cents at 9.73 per bushel.
